A rural North Texas woman said she dialed 911 repeatedly but got no answer as an intruder roamed her home in the dark.

Laverne Hokett lives in Parker County, just west of Fort Worth.

She said she was awakened one night last month by someone breaking through her back door. She dialed 911 several times from her cell phone but got no answer.

Prosecutors also  dropped 156 DUI cases and filed perjury charges against Officer John Haleas after he was discovered lying in his reports

(AP) A Roman Catholic priest who monitors law enforcement treatment of minorities with a video camera released footage that appears to contradict the police account of his own arrest.

A police report says the Rev. James Manship was confronted and arrested Feb. 19 because he was holding an “unknown shiny silver object” and struggled with an officer who was trying to take it from him. But a 15-second video released this week by Manship’s attorneys shows East Haven police Officer David Cari asking Manship, “Is there a reason you have a camera on me?”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Govar said Police Chief Dallas Edward Brogdon was indicted Feb. 6, just under a year after federal agents found him to be in possession of 10 unregistered, fully automatic machine guns.

Chad Hilde was charged yesterday with four counts of unlawful possession of a game animal. He also faces four counts of solicitation.
